A Rural Renovation

In this project, Inhabit Construction have undertaken a Georgian-style addition and refurbishment to a modest country home set in a magnificent rural landscape. Completed in 2021 this stunning renovation featured as a finalist in the statewide Master Builders Tasmania Award for Excellence in the category of Renovation / Addition over $1 million.

Key features of the renovation include meticulous galvanised roofing and downpipes by Justin Hutton Roofing, a Count Rumford fireplace constructed by a specialist heritage bricklayer, stunning grey Iron Bark flooring throughout and beautifully crafted American Oak joinery tops.

Achieving the Georgian-style involved use of traditional skirtings and architraves as well as beautifully crafted timber windows and doors by Merritt Joinery. The reconditioning and re-use of original 1860 Georgian door locks and an 1840’s Georgian bell system imbue additional elements of charm and unique character to the renovation.

The resulting build by Inhabit Construction quality builders is a comfortable, practical, beautiful and well-crafted home that melds seamlessly and timelessly into the rural Tasmanian setting.
